The area’s newest jazz festival takes place through November in a quaint little Café in Buckingham, le Café des Artistes de la Lièvre (819-281-1987).  Great food and a great atmosphere in a century-old log house. The festival takes place on November 5, 12, 19, 26 and 27.  Every festival night features two local jazz groups playing one set each.

The Marie Patenaude Trio

In 2007, the Marie Patenaude Trio, performing a répertoire of American songs interspersed with a few French songs, became the house band at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa.  Shinya’s piano and Paul’s double-bass create a soft and rhythmic atmosphere, a perfect setting for Marie’s powerful and accurate voice.  The Trio has also played the Café Paradiso, Jazzoo Bar & Grill and Arc The Hotel. For this Trio every note counts.

Mario Gauvreau & le Trio Versus

The Versus Trio is a fusion of many different styles and musical influences such as jazz, funk, groove, Latin, rock and blues.  The contrasts in sounds and variations in style of their performances blend into a melodic mix unique to this group.
