Jazz guitarist Jake Langley has emerged as one his generation's great young talents on the instrument. The New York-based musician held the guitar chair with the illustrious Joey DeFrancesco Trio for five years, performing world wide.

Jake is now focused on leading his own group and has just released his new Trio CD Here and Now, featuring New York heavyweights Brian Charette and Ian Froman.

Jake's fourth CD with his trio, Movin' and Groovin', was nominated for a Juno in 2008, and Jake was featured on Joey DeFrancesco's CDs Organic Vibes and Authorized Bootlegs (Concord). His trio stays true to "soul jazz" roots while still exploring modern musical territory.

Jake has also performed and recorded with Jazz icons Bobby Hutcherson, George Coleman, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy McGriff, James Moody, David "Fathead" Newman, Houston Person, Fred Wesley, and Steve Gadd, as well as pop stars David Clayton Thomas, Willie Nelson, soul legend Bobby Blue Bland, and many others. He has appeared on PBS Legends of Jazz with Joey DeFrancesco and Dr. Lonnie Smith. He has won numerous awards including National Jazz Awards in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
