Jazzfest 2013: Finding the music you like, by local musicians

Rick Rangno is one of many local musicians who will play new, original music on the 2013 Ottawa Jazz Festival's free local stages ©Brett Delmage, 2008Most recently updated 2013 April 15

Are you looking for music you'd like to hear on 2013 Ottawa Jazz Festival main and free local stages? To help you, we've classified  the music being made by our talented local jazz musicians this year.

Keep in mind that this summary cannot perfectly describe what you'll hear, or the range of styles that you might hear in one single show. Visit the musicians' websites for additional info, and often, music samples. Ultimately, you'll just have to attend these concerts and listen for yourself – and take the chance of possibly discovering something new (and for free for most of these concerts!) that makes your day. As improvisation is an important part of a live jazz concert, you'll never hear the same performance again anyway.
