A pre-Canada Day celebration at Paradiso: the Jake Langley Trio is back by popular demand!

Jazz guitarist Jake Langley has emerged as one his generation's great young talents on the instrument. The New York-based musician held the guitar chair with the illustrious Joey DeFrancesco Trio for five years, performing world-wide. Jake has just released his new Trio CD Here and Now featuring New York heavyweights Brian Charette (organ) and Ian Froman (drums).

Jake's fourth CD with his trio, Movin' and Groovin, was nominated for a Juno in 2008, and Jake was featured on Joey DeFrancesco's CDs, Organic Vibes  and Authorized Bootlegs (Concord). His trio stays true to "Soul Jazz" roots while still exploring modern musical territory.

Jake has also performed and recorded with Jazz icons Bobby Hutcherson, George Coleman, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy McGriff, James Moody, David "Fathead" Newman, Houston Person, Fred Wesley, Steve Gadd, and pop stars David Clayton Thomas, Willie Nelson, soul legend Bobby Blue Bland and many others. He has appeared on the PBS programs, Legends of Jazz with Joey DeFrancesco and Dr. Lonnie Smith.

He has recorded five CDs as a leader. He has won numerous awards including National Jazz Awards in 2004, 2005, and 2006. His music is heard on radio worldwide and is featured on television and in films.
