An album reflecting her lively personality, that's what jazz vocalist Nicole Ratté has been working on over the past year. She will launch When Somebody Thinks You're Wonderful at this concert with her quartet of excellent musicians.
Well known for her warm presence and her light and sensual voice, Nicole has prepared a show with textures and surprises that will reflect the happy ambiance of the album. Come and join her and her musicians to celebrate the delivery of this "new baby"!
The new CD contains 14 songs, mostly jazz standards in English, French, and Spanish. "Jean-Pierre Allain wrote most of the arrangements which I really liked right away. You'll find swing, Latin songs as well as ballads, in English, in French and in Spanish, and all were chosen because they touch me in one way or the other."
Besides all the songs from the album, at the concert she'll be playing some of her favourite standards: "the ones I really love but couldn't put on the CD".
"The atmosphere I chose for this album is a happy one, a mirror of how I feel these days. I wanted it to be bubbly, warm and maybe a bit tender, so you will find no dark or sad ballads on the horizon. :-) "
"Il me fera plaisir de vous interpréter, en plus des pièces de l'album, quelques-uns de mes standards préférés, ceux qui me touchent le plus et que j'adore.
Principalement composé de standards de jazz en anglais, en français et en espagnol, le cd compte 14 chansons. J'ai choisi une ambiance pétillante et chaleureuse, tendre sur les bords, alors pas une seule sombre ballade à l'horizon. :-) Jean-Pierre Allain a concocté la majorité des arrangements que j'ai tout de suite aimés. On y trouve des pièces swing, des pièces latines, des ballades connues et moins connues mais toutes ont été choisies parce qu'elles me touchent particulièrement, de différentes façons."
