your support for The Scene!

Thanks to donations of all amounts from more than 200 of our readers,'s community funding campaign has almost reached its goal, with sponsorships already pledged for 335 days. We only need 29 more days of daily, personal sponsorships at $20/day to reach the one full year of support we need to continue in 2015. Just four generous sponsors of a Septet of days could take us to the finish line too. Every donation, no matter what amount, gets us closer.

You keep yourself informed and entertained with our articles, video documentaries, photos, reviews, and event listings by donating. Please add your name to our growing public list of supporters today, or make an anonymous donation. It only takes 30 seconds to register your pledge for one year of support - we're not asking for any payment information right now. Be sure to check out your donor benefits. And thank you for visiting and for supporting The Scene!

Awarded! a pair of tickets to hear Geggie, Braid, Ellias and Tanguay on March 9

Congratulations to Lynn Clayton, who won the pair of tickets to hear the next Geggie Series concert with Roddy Ellias, Pierre Tanguay, David Braid and John Geggie at the NAC Fourth Stage on Saturday, March 9! The tickets were generously donated by the National Arts Centre.

All four renowned Canadian musicians have performed for highly appreciative Ottawa audiences in the past, although not in this interesting combination.

The answer to our skill-testing question, "Which musician was called a jazz genius to call our own?" is "David Braid". The answer could be found at where you can find out more about this concert and purchase tickets.

Thanks to all our participants for your interest.

We have more great ticket draws coming up this year! You must be a subscriber to our free weekly jazz and improvised music newsletter in order to enter a draw. Sign up today!
