Congratulations to Christiane Poirier, who won a pair of tickets to hear The Brian Browne Trio on Friday, June 1, 2012 - 8 p.m. presented by the municipality of Cantley, Quebec and La Grange de la Gatineau, which generously donated the tickets.
If you did not win, concert tickets and reservations may still be ordered directly from the La Grange website. Listeners can optionally enjoy a fine meal in this environment before the concert.
With a musical career that spans over fifty years, pianist Brian Browne has gained a reputation as a true Canadian jazz legend. He has a unique natural gift for music that is manifested through a highly individual sense of musical artistry. Browne has recorded 11 albums on Capitol Records, RCA Victor, CBC JazzImage, and Sea Jam Recordings. For this show he will be accompanied by two well-known Ottawa jazz musicians: John Geggie on bass and Jeff Asselin on drums.
The Grange is a magnificent 180-year-old log building that was once a pioneer barn and has now been adapted for professional and social events. Its riverside, woodland setting and authentic heritage furnishings offer a unique Canadian atmosphere in a tranquil environment, especially fine during the spring.
The correct answer to our skill testing question What is the mission of La Grange de la Gatineau ? is "La Grange de la Gatineau is a not-for-profit organization to promote heritage, the arts, discussion and debate to support the community. It is supported by the activities of the events centre, which hosts corporate events, weddings, parties and celebrations."
Thanks to everyone who entered.
