Saturday, September 10 - Betty Ann Bryanton Sideways Bend Reprise at Les Brasseurs du Temps

Ottawa vocalist Betty Ann Bryanton put almost a year of her life, and four months of rehearsals, into the first edition of this show, which sold out at GigSpace in May. It's her special project to explore and present beautiful but rare jazz tunes. Bryanton tells us that “85% of the songs were brand new — not just 'brand new' as in we never played them before, but 'brand new' as in NO ONE in the band had heard about these songs before."

Because everyone in the band loved the material and put a lot of love into it, she said, they decided to present it again, on the other side of the Ottawa River.

Bored with "Summertime" or "My Funny Valentine"? Here's your chance to hear something new, played by a hard-working Ottawa jazz sextet.

The Betty Ann Bryanton Quintet will perform at Les Brasseurs du Temps, 170 rue Montcalm in Gatineau, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10. Advance tickets are highly recommended: see bettyannbryanton.com/event/1624535/285407491/sideways-bend-reprise.  The restaurant is about eight minutes walk north of Les Terrasses de la Chaudiere in downtown Gatineau, and near an STO Rapibus stop.
