Steve Berndt will release his new CD of jazz standards, Déjá Vu at the NAC 4th Stage on May 9 at 7:30 p.m. He and pianist Brian Browne talked to OttawaJazzScene.ca about their 'naked' making of this CD (with piano and voice only), the lasting significance of jazz standards, and how improvisation was an integral part of this album. Their sense of humour and sharing of some of their beliefs and experiences as musicians made this a delightful interview.
