Guitarist and composer Roddy Ellias can fill an entire room with the music from just his guitar, including the silence he plays and quiet attention from his audiences. He'll be showing how he does that, in a wide variety of styles, at a solo concert tonight (Saturday, March 23) at 8 p.m. at GigSpace.

We talked with Roddy after his initial GigSpace series concert with John Fraboni (drums) and Adrian Vedady (double bass). Watch a few clips from that concert, along with him talking about his music and a guitar he really loves.

On April 30, 2013, Roddy Ellias was received a Jazz Hero award from the Jazz Journalists Association. Watch's video of the celebration and hear from some of Ellias' musical friends who already thought that he was a jazz hero.
