The Nepean All-City Jazz Band, directed by Neil Yorke-Slader, celebrates its 32nd anniversary this year. It's recognized as one of the pre-eminent teenage jazz ensembles in Canada, and won numerous awards. The NACJB is a regular at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, and has also performed at the Music & Beyond Festival, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, the Thousand Island Jazz Festival, and the Governor General's Summer Concert Series at Rideau Hall. In April 2015, NACJB performed two concerts with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. NACJB has had great success at Musicfest Nationals, earning Gold standing each year. Many NACJB alumni have gone on to study music at prestigious Canadian and American universities and colleges.
