Sunday Afternoon Jazz in Aid of Refugees
Southminster United Church
Sunday, May 29, 2016

Vocalist Geri Childs, moved by the plight of Syrian refugees, organized a jazz concert to raise funds for the Ottawa Centre Refugee Action, and persuaded some of Ottawa's most accomplished jazz vocalists and instrumentalists to donate their time. The concert at Southminster United Church raised $3,772 through ticket sales, donations, CD sales, and a plant and bake sale outside the church.
