"Bebop and chamber music come together for an intimate evening of swinging tunes and refreshing sounds with the hippest music from three jazz masters – Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and Charles Mingus performed by the OJO’s unique chamber jazz ensemble. With its unusual instrumentation, this unique twelve-piece collective of jazz and symphony musicians offers up a feast for the ears with arrangements from Adrian Cho and Rick Rangno inspired by Duke Ellington, Gil Evans and Johnny Richards."
The concert will be in Glebe-St. James United Church. This is a new performance space for Ottawa Jazz Orchestra, that has excellent acoustics. The concert location is only 2 minutes away from the corner of Bronson Avenue and Carling Avenue, 3 minutes away the 417, and is a short walk from OC Transpo routes 1, 4, 7, and 85.
