Congratulations to Karen Oxorn, who won a pair of tickets to hear Elizabeth Shepherd at the NAC Fourth Stage on Friday, February 8. The National Arts Centre  generously donated these tickets for our first draw of 2013.

Elizabeth Shepherd pushes the boundaries of what is considered conventional jazz, all the while creating a sound completely her own. Trained extensively in conservatories from across Canada to France, Elizabeth completed a degree in jazz piano from McGill University, Montreal. Initially entering the music program to pursue a career in music therapy she quickly discovered her extensive talent in songwriting and performing.

Read our interview, "Elizabeth Shepherd marries a pop sensibility to a jazz aesthetic."

The answer to our skill testing question, "What was the music that Elizabeth Shepherd was first exposed to ?" was "brass band", mentioned at nac-cna.ca/en/presents/event/3443
